A horizontal travertine karst cavity in the Dzhemukha valley — 3 km east of Inozemtsevo, a Batulin reserve nature monument.
Batulin Cave
Batulin Cave is a geomorphological nature monument 3 km east of Inozemtsevo in the Dzhemukha valley, within the Batulin complex reserve. It is a horizontal karst void in a travertine and gravel terrace over clay. The passport gives ~1 m height, up to 50 m width and 4 m depth — a gallery rather than a vertical cave. In the cliff by Lake Kapka the same system is called Kapelnitsa Cave — drips from travertine walls shape the microclimate. The area is linked to botanist F. A. Batulin who studied Pre-Caucasus mineral springs in the 19th century. A geological stop in the foothills — no speleo gear needed.
