Boom Uyghur Lookout

“Boom” is the second of two Uyghur-period stone lookouts in Tuva (with Ust-Elegest fortress). Republic fortification studies place it at Boom Pass about 30 km from Kyzyl on the Yenisei bank; dry-stone masonry without mortar. At the foot begins a stretch of the “Genghis Khan Road” defensive bank — up to 2.5 km west, 0.4–0.5 m high, up to 6 m wide. A separate archaeological layer — do not conflate blindly with thirteenth-century Mongol campaigns. Catalogue coordinates are approximate — confirm approach on local Yenisei roads. Unsignposted: scree, ticks, no panels. A feasible half-day archaeological stop from Kyzyl compared with Tere-Khol, yet still needs a foot climb to the masonry.
