Chekalin
One of Russia's smallest towns, with fewer than a thousand residents. It was once called Likhvin, a frontier town on the edge of the steppe, protected by a fortress of the Great Abatis Line. A wooden fortress was reconstructed on the old hillfort in 2020, together with a viewpoint; traces of the earlier earthworks remain nearby.
