Didino railway tunnel

About 60 kilometres from Yekaterinburg, an abandoned railway tunnel cuts through the forested slope of Mount Belaya. Construction began in 1913, but errors made while driving the tunnel from both ends delayed completion until 1918. The passage is more than 1,100 metres long and served the railway for 77 years before closing in 1995. It is dark, damp and difficult to reach without a capable vehicle; visitors should treat it as an industrial ruin, not a maintained attraction.

How to get there

На электричке Екатеринбург — Дружинино до о.п. «Дидинский тоннель», далее пешком; либо на внедорожнике с трассы Р-242.
