Dus-Khol Lake (Tandinsky)

Dus-Khol (Svatikovo) in Tandinsky kozhuun is a closed salt lake about 45 km south of Kyzyl. Area 0.55 km², length about 1.4 km, depth to 3.4 m, elevation 707 m. Register data cite salinity near 127.5 ‰; brine springs on north and south shores feed the brine. The oval basin sits in a treeless hilly plain of the southern Tuva Hollow, 3 km west of Khadyn Lake and north of Chagytay. Shape and pale salt crusts on banks make it recognisable from the road — yet tourist infrastructure is minimal. Locals use water and mud for wellness; approaches are partly boggy. In summer residents camp informally; a Soviet boarding house, per local accounts, has not survived. Combine with Khadyn and Chagytay lakes in one day from Kyzyl, but do not swim without checking depth and bottom — banks are gentle yet brine is highly mineralised. Respect private camps and pack out litter.
