Glinki Estate (Bruce)

Where the Vorya meets the Klyazma, in Losino-Petrovsky, stands a Petrine-Baroque palace-and-park ensemble — one of the oldest stone country seats in the Moscow region by architecture. In 1727–1735, already retired, Peter the Great’s associate Jacob (Yakov) Bruce — soldier, diplomat and scientist — shaped the estate; he died here in 1735. He bought the property from a Dolgorukov prince; the Bruce family held Glinki roughly until the late eighteenth century (often cited as to 1791). The ceremonial court reads as a symmetrical rectangle: main house and wings oriented to the cardinal points. The stone house shows a rusticated portal, mascarons and loggias; local descriptions mention a former light observation turret — today more a historical motif than a guaranteed exhibit. A park with ponds lies nearby. After long sanatorium use, the twenty-first century has returned the site as a museum and tour venue: the official site usadba-brusa.ru lists exhibitions (including clocks and a carriage display); entry follows site rules, often by booking.
