Inzerskiye Zubchatki

Inzerskiye Zubchatki (“Inzer serrations”) is a ridge in Beloretsky District between the Bolshoy Inzer and Tirlyan rivers: about 10 km long, about 3 km wide, up to roughly 1,160 m (Mayak peak is the landmark). The Bashkir name Iräktash points to “toothed” rocks. The cliffs are quartzite and quartzite sandstone; the usual day goal is the rock circus “castle” with teeth tens of metres high and ridge viewpoints. From the north approaches the stone river Shirokaya Rossyp; on a clear day the crest looks toward neighbouring Southern Ural ridges, including directions toward Kumardak. This is not a packaged Iremel ascent: different road, different pace, different preparation. The classic approach starts at Tirlyansky settlement (about 35 km of paved road from Beloretsk). Dirt roads and trails to the rock circus usually total about 15–17 km; the exact walking remainder depends on where you leave the car and the state of the ruts, with fords after rain. Ordinary cars often cannot reach the “castle” — plan a long walk or a high-clearance / local drop-off. The Beloretsk–Tirlyansky bus may not run — check before you go. For prepared hikers with an offline map and a full day of light, not a resort stroll from a car park. Scree twists ankles easily; after rain, ruts and fords slow the day markedly. The crest can be windy — bring a shell and water. Leave no litter at the rocks or springs, and do not treat the teeth as a fitted climbing wall: view them from safe paths. The serrated skyline and the neighbouring ridges are the reward for the long approach. Save an offline track, check the weather, and allow time for the return: people come here for a demanding Southern Ural ridge that is less packaged than Iremel.
