Kalandr Lake

Kalandr Lake lies in cedar taiga near better-known Jack London Lake. Gentle shores, clear water; smaller and quieter than its neighbour — often the first or last camp on a multi-day trek. Anglers value it for quiet grayling fishing; no permanent infrastructure — tent, stove and water filter only. Arrange fishing permits before departure. Same dirt approach as other north-slope lakes — fords and bridges are seasonal. Delays after rain are common — do not plan a tight schedule without a buffer day. Basin weather may differ from open passes — morning fog, midday heat by the water, evening mosquitoes. Warm layers and repellent needed even in July. Fits a loop with Silakh and Jack London Lake. No signal — share route and return dates with a contact in Magadan or Susuman.
