Karaulnaya Cave
Karaulnaya Cave is a regional nature monument in Yemelyanovsky District ~5 km west of Udachny farm and ~2 km north of Izvestkovy. ~540 m of passages, 34 m depth; terrestrial area ~10.5 ha. Karst in limestone with stalactites, stalagmites and archaeological traces. Visits by appointment via Altamira museum or caving club; summer ferry to Izvestkovy possible. Access: bus 12 to Udachny farm, ~6 km walk or taxi; car to Lesnaya street dead end, ~800 m climb on foot. No entry to closed sections without guide; do not touch speleothems or litter. Shoulder seasons — slippery climb; treaded footwear.
