Kazanovka Petroglyphs

Kazanovka petroglyphs lie in Askiz District gorges of Bely Iyus tributaries. Panels show animals, hunting and symbols from Neolithic to early Iron Age; known since the mid-20th century. The Kazanovka museum-reserve has marked trails; some images under shelters. Tours start at the village museum complex with reconstructions and excavation finds. Mixed taiga and rocky outcrops surround the site — a field route on forest paths. Touching images is forbidden. Several hours from Abakan; fewer visitors than Lake Shira or Itkul. Combine with the Askiz steppe and other Bely Iyus sites. Check museum hours and guides — some sections close without accompaniment.
