Khekhtsir Ridge Trail

The Khekhtsir range rises above the Amur floodplain at Khabarovsk's southern edge. Trails lead to viewpoints over the river, floodplain and cedar taiga — a popular day hike for city residents. Some routes lie in the Bolshekhekhtsirsky Reserve buffer zone — confirm which trails are open for independent visits and which require a guide before ascent. Rocky soil and roots make slopes slippery after rain. The climb takes several hours; plan descent before dark rather than night forest travel without preparation. The crest offers a wide panorama of the Amur bend and forest slopes — not a cable car but a foot route with elevation gain and ridge wind. Drive from Khabarovsk to trailhead parking in a short trip.
