Khodutkinsky Hot Springs

Khodutkinsky springs lie at the foot of Khodutka volcano, south of typical Paratunka valley routes. Kamchatka hydrology lists them among the most powerful thermal outlets: mineral-rich water hot enough for natural pools in rock basins. Unlike spa pools, the setting is open landscape — steam over snow in winter, shrubs in summer, volcanic slopes beyond. Part of the road is dirt; the last section is often on foot. Popular with locals and experienced visitors but not standard Petropavlovsk city tours. Rules have changed over time — check current access and bathing restrictions. Combine with Mutnovsky volcano or southern Khodutka slopes — a second-tier route after city thermal complexes.
