Khut River Mouth

The Khut (Soldzhur in headwaters) is a 93 km river in Piy-Khemsky kozhuun, a right tributary of the Greater Yenisei (Biy-Khem). Catchment 1,570 km²; source above 1,240 m in the Western Sayan, mouth below 792 m near the Krasnoyarsk Krai border. The valley widens downstream; mid and lower banks carry taiga — a northern Tuva landscape rare in tourist brochures. Not a “shamanism centre” but a water corridor for fishing, paddling and taiga wildlife. Approach via Piy-Khem villages then forest roads; few bridges, fords possible. Signal drops on tracks to the mouth. Combine with a Greater Yenisei route but note distance from Kyzyl — this is the republic’s northern edge, not a short capital day trip.
