Alexander Suvorov's family estate on the Oka — house, park and museum of the field marshal.
Konchanskoye Suvorov Estate
Konchanskoye village in Dzerzhinsky District is tied to the Suvorov family: Alexander Vasilyevich spent childhood and youth here. The estate on a high Oka bank kept the house, park alleys and outbuildings. The museum-reserve runs tours of the manor and park; interiors restored from 18th–19th-century documents. Halls cover Suvorov's campaigns, training methods and attitude to common soldiers. From the high bank you get a wide Oka floodplain panorama — the same landscape type as Polotnyany Zavod and Borovsk District. Combine in one day. Seasonal hours; some buildings may close in winter. About an hour from Kaluga via Polotnyany Zavod. Gravel park paths — practical shoes; autumn leaves. Steep Oka bank — no unsupervised descent. School groups are frequent — visit at opening or after lunch.
