Krivyakino Estate

On the high left bank of the Moskva River within Voskresensk stands a late-eighteenth to early-nineteenth-century estate also known as Krasnoye Seltso. The brick house, transitional from Baroque to neoclassicism, was built in the later eighteenth century. Local histories name Zamyatin, Cherkassky, Panin and Beklemishev owners; in the early nineteenth century Kolomna merchant I. I. Lazhechnikov (father of the writer) bought the estate — childhood and youth of Ivan Lazhechnikov, author of The Ice House, are linked to Krivyakino. After nationalisation the buildings served as a hostel, kindergarten and sanatorium. Since 2000 the municipal Krivyakino Estate cultural centre has run exhibitions, concerts and local-history displays; the park with cascade ponds is landscaped for walking. The ensemble (main house, wings, park) is heritage-protected; the terrace overlooks the Moskva valley. A convenient “town” estate before a trip to the Lopatinsky quarries. Check centre hours and the events calendar: an ordinary day may be house and park only; a concert day is another visit entirely.
