Lermontov Waterfall

Lermontov Waterfall is a regional nature monument in the Olkhovka valley on Kislovodsk’s southern edge. Grey Lower Cretaceous limestones form two 4–5 m steps with a ~3 m cascade. Once called Olkhovsky after the river, it was renamed for Lermontov in the 19th century — tradition links it to Pechorin watering his horse in A Hero of Our Time. A grassy bank lies below; small dome caves sit in the rock. The fall has shrunk in recent decades though the stream remains visible. Reach it via Olkhovskaya and Prudnaya streets — a short trip from the centre, a quiet stop after the main park.
