A fortified hillfort on the high bank of the Lukh River — one of the region's oldest centres.
Lukh Hillfort — the Lukh Kremlin
The hillfort by Lukh occupies a cape on the high right bank. Local historians call it the Lukh Кремль: ramparts and ditches read clearly. Archaeologists record layers from the Early Iron Age to the late Middle Ages. Today it is an archaeological monument with river and old-town views from the ramparts. Allow 1–1.5 hours; pair with a walk in Lukh's historic centre.
How to get there
Lukh town, Lukhsky District; hillfort within town limits.
