Lyudinovo Railway Heritage

Lyudinovo stands on the Moscow — Kaluga — Bryansk line; since the late 19th century it grew as a railway hub and industrial centre in southern Kaluga Oblast. Station and depot shaped the settlement that later became a city. Historic building around the station and old factory quarters kept early 20th-century two- and three-storey houses. Lyudinovo rarely appears in tourist brochures — but shows how a provincial centre lived on rail and engineering. Local history museum and memorial sites cover line construction, depot work and a shipyard on the Bolva River. Modest display but rounds off a station square walk. Stop between Kaluga and Bryansk or base for Ugra Park and Maloyaroslavets. Allow two to three hours for station, museum and centre. Modest food and lodging — book weekends ahead. About 90 minutes from Kaluga by road. Active station — do not block passenger flow when filming on the platform; respect railway rules.
