A town park and green zone in the district centre — alleys, ponds and a local recreation spot in the oblast's south.
Mordovo Landscape Park
Mordovo is a district centre in south-west Tambov Oblast where Chernozem steppe gives way to more wooded landscape. The town landscape park is the main green space: alleys, benches, playgrounds and a pond with paths around it. The park is not a nature reserve — everyday recreation for locals and a stop for travellers heading south. It shows small-town life off tourist routes: morning runs, family walks, pond fishing. Summer brings kiosks and children's rides; winter may offer a skating rink or ski track when weather allows. Allow one to two hours for a leisurely walk. Combine Mordovo with Zherdevka (~45 km) and Uvarovo salt lakes (~55 km) for southern industry, park and salt lakes in one day. On town festival days the park fills — visit on a weekday morning for a quiet walk.
How to get there
