Mount Mituha

Mount Mituha rises above taiga on Barguzin Bay's east shore. ~800 m; summit and slopes view the bay, Barguzin mouth and far shore. Routes through forest and rock; trails not always marked. Several hours' climb — treaded shoes and water. Not a developed tourist site — no lifts or summit cafés. For prepared hikers, not a one-hour stroll. Best in dry summer; mud and snow in spring and autumn. Winter only for equipped climbers. Base in Ust-Barguzin or bay villages — allow a full day.

How to get there

Dirt roads from Ust-Barguzin or bay villages to the foot; then on foot.

Best season

July–August in dry weather
