Mutnovsky Fumarole Field
Mutnovsky is among Kamchatka's most active volcanoes; fumarole fields at ~800–1000 m form a 'steam valley' where ground hisses and breathes. Geothermal power plants operate nearby but natural vents remain on tour and trekking routes. Landscape recalls Iceland or New Zealand geothermal zones — yellow and grey sulphur, steam plumes, acidic streams. Wind is often strong — face and hand protection helps. Popular with local guides as an alternative to crowded city thermal pools. Snowmobiles in winter, 4WD plus short hike in summer. Part of a large volcanic complex, not a standalone theme park. Allow half a day — spa-only visits miss the scale.
