Oglakhty Kurgan Field

Oglakhty is a locality and kurgan field in dry steppe and salt soils; dozens of mounds with information signs. Visible from the Sayanogorsk road on central Khakassia drives — earthworks, not rock art. Pastures nearby; windy steppe. Hot summer; mound outlines visible in snow. No ticket but do not damage mounds or camp on them. Combine with Lake Shira, Sunduki and the lake near Chernyshevskoye.

How to get there

Abakan–Sayanogorsk highway; turnoffs between Shira and Sorsk.

Best season

June–August; green steppe in spring
