Grandiozny Peak

Grandiozny Peak (Khakas Khaibity) crowns the Kryzhin Range in the Eastern Sayan, Kuraginsky District. Coordinates 53°53′38″N 96°00′27″E; elevation 2,922 m — krai high point. First ascent 29 August 1955, A. Krichevsky’s party. Climb grade 1B–2A; summit dominates surroundings by 400–500 m. Soviet-era reliefs, plaques and a “arrival/departure book” since 1990 remain on top. Routes from Waterfall Creek valleys and western bypasses; Irkutsk Oblast border ~20 km west. Not Stolby — no cable cars, multi-day mountain trek. Sayan weather shifts in hours; pack for multi-day trek with possible summer snow. No litter on summit; leave plaques in place.

Kuraginsky District, Kryzhin Range. Trailhead via dirt roads from Kuragino/local villages; then foot/alpine route.
