Pichaevo Dormition Monastery

Holy Dormition Pichaevo Monastery stands at Pichaevo village in northern Tambov Oblast in scenic woodland and fields. It began as a rural monastic community and grew into a district complex with stone churches, fence and cell blocks. Architecture is typical of 19th–early 20th-century monastic building: white walls, domes, bell tower and refectory. The monastery survived Soviet closure and revival; services continue today with a pilgrim house and Sunday school. Pichaevo is a quiet village without big-city tourist infrastructure — arrange meals and lodging at the pilgrim house ahead. A rare steppe monastery atmosphere — space, silence, bells over the fields.
