Progress Settlement

Progress settlement was built for Vostochny Cosmodrome staff in the oblast's steppe — new housing and frontier feel on the horizon. The cosmodrome itself is closed — no launch tours promised. Interest is steppe contrast and cosmic infrastructure on the skyline. Paved road from Shimanovsk and Svobodny; hot windy steppe summers; fuel and shops available but limited. Do not approach cosmodrome fences or photograph defence objects — a transit stop only. Combine with Svobodny–south routes toward Arkhara and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast border.
