Pushchino-on-Nara Estate

Near Serpukhov, on the Nara, stands (and decays) a late-eighteenth-century Palladian house of the Vyazemsky princes. The estate is linked to Senator S. I. Vyazemsky and his wife Anna Fedotovna; Pushchino was long a family nest. The architect is unknown — some writers suggest N. A. Lvov’s circle, but that is a hypothesis, not a signed project. The two-storey house with porticoes on rusticated arcades once had wings and a lime park; the same owners are credited with a cloth factory. Do not confuse it with the science town of Pushchino or Pushchino-on-Oka. Later private owners followed the Vyazemskys (local histories name Novosiltseva, then the Ryabov manufacturers). In Soviet times the main house served as a hostel; from the late Soviet decades decay accelerated — today it is mainly ruins. There is almost no “official museum” narrative: rely on culture/local-history notes and field observation. View from outside only and carefully: collapses are real and the site may be overgrown. A stop for those ready for quiet ruins without services.
