Rzhaksa Mineral Springs

Rzhaksa settlement in Rzhaksinsky District is known for natural mineral springs locals used since the 19th century. Water rises from deep fractures with high mineral content — drunk for treatment and as a cool refreshment. A gallery with taps and benches serves the springs; nearby are sanatorium-resort facilities and parkland. Not a major Caucasus-scale spa but a modest provincial rest spot. Rzhaksa mineral water is recommended for digestive conditions — self-treatment without a doctor is unwise. Drink according to signs at the taps. The spring area is open in warm season; some galleries may close in winter. Allow one to two hours with a park walk and water tasting. Combine Rzhaksa with Kirsanov (~40 km) and Inzhavino (~35 km) for river, merchant architecture and mineral springs in one eastern day.
