One of Primorsky's largest caves in the Sikhote-Alin foothills — underground halls and strict visit rules.

Shirokaya Cave

Shirokaya Cave is among the largest karst cavities in the krai, in forest at the foot of Sikhote-Alin. The entrance is modest; inside are spacious galleries with typical limestone formations. Visits usually require an instructor and coordination with local caving groups. Rules protect formations and visitor safety. Temperature inside stays cool; bring a torch, warm layers, and grippy footwear. Unprepared solo descent is dangerous. For travellers Shirokaya is a rare geological site complementing forest and mountain routes in eastern Primorsky, not a city tour item.

How to get there

From Dalnegorsk or Kirovsky district via forest roads to a trailhead settlement; then with a guide to the entrance.

Best season

June–September by group booking
