Cascades on mountain tributaries near Shkotovo — a short forest route instead of city embankments.
Shkotovskiye Waterfalls
Shkotovsky district holds several waterfall cascades on fast rivers, reached by forest trails. Water is clear, stones smoothed by flow; even in summer it stays cool nearby. Routes vary from half-hour walks to multi-hour climbs. Trails are not always marked; stones are slippery after rain; footbridges may be temporary. Popular with locals on weekends but not on standard Vladivostok city tours. Minimal infrastructure — parking at the access point, then on foot. A good half-day escape to see typical Primorsky landscape: mixed forest, mountain stream, and cool air by the water.
How to get there
About 70 km from Vladivostok to Shkotovo; then local roads or signs to trailheads.
Best season
June–September; trails harder after rain
