Susuya River Estuary
The 83 km Susuya rises on Mount Svetlaya slopes and enters the Sea of Okhotsk via Losos Bay in Aniva Bay. The name ties to Susunai Lowland and the Ainu word for an alder-lined river. Over 20 tributaries; roads and settlements cross the valley but the estuary stays natural — meadows and floodplain important for fish and birds. Salmon run spring and autumn; winter ice on the river and Aniva Bay. A nature viewpoint, not city tourism. Pair with Losos Bay shore or south Aniva coast — not regional-centre museums.

From Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk or Korsakov toward the south Aniva Bay and Losos Bay.

May–June and September–October for salmon; winter for ice fishing
