Talaya Hot Springs

Talaya springs surface in the coastal zone southwest of Magadan, near the namesake bay. Geothermal heat warms the water; locals have used it for bathing and daily needs for years. Minimal infrastructure — wooden decks, improvised tubs, sometimes anglers' bases. Rocky shore, low tundra vegetation and bay views; no resort-style service. Partly unpaved access from the Magadan highway; mud season needs four-wheel drive. Last kilometres may wash out after rain — ask nearby residents about passability. Temperature varies between pools — test by hand, especially with children. Mud and algae make rocks slippery — boots with good tread are essential. Valued for quiet and hot water against cool sea wind. Tent or arranged base overnight; pairs well with Taloye Lake and coastal walks.
