Tarbagatay Village
Tarbagatay stands in steppe Ivolginsky District, 30 km from Ulan-Ude. A centre of Old Belief in Buryatia; descendants of 18th–19th-century settlers. Wooden houses with carved trim, prayer houses and modest yards. A living village, not an open-air museum — residents farm and craft. Visitors come for architecture, customs and sometimes local goods. Photograph yards and people only with permission. Combine with Ivolginsky Datsan and Lake Kotokel — Buddhist and Old Believer heritage in one district. Respect private life — do not enter yards uninvited or make noise at prayer houses.

By car from Ulan-Ude on local steppe roads; public transport is infrequent.
