Tatar Hillfort

North of Tatar village on the Stavropol Plateau edge lies the “Tatar Hillfort” complex (Early Iron Age–9th century AD): three hillforts of federal and regional status, chamber tombs, remains of a temple and ruler’s palace. At the village’s north edge — the “Tatarka gully rock belt” monument: a 350 m cliff up to 10 m high. Big Niche and Honeycomb rocks with honeycomb-like relief are route highlights. The reserve includes a hermit’s grotto, Krinitsa spring, Pagoda, Travertine and Glass Streams waterfalls, and beech glades. A path leads to an abandoned shell-limestone quarry.
