Timonovsky Hot Springs
Timonovsky springs sit in the Mutnovsky geothermal complex, away from main Dachny springs stops. Water emerges through cracks in lava, forming small pools of varying temperature and mineral content. Typical active geothermal scenery — hydrogen sulphide smell, white mineral deposits, steam over cool air even in summer. Seasonal road; spring and post-rain access is hard. Known to anglers and geothermal enthusiasts, rarely in promo brochures — for independent or small-group trips with camping or village stays. Combine with Mutnovsky fumarole fields and Gorely volcano — in good weather see several faces of Kamchatka volcanism in one or two days.
How to get there
From Petropavlovsk via Mutnovsky area; dirt track to Timonovsky (~120–140 km).
