Tsagan-Shibetu Ridge

Tsagan-Shibetu (Mong. “white fence”) is a ~130 km range in south-western Tuva and north-western Mongolia. Highest point on the Russian side is Munkhulik (3,577 m); in Mongolia Tsagaan Shuvuut reaches ~3,495 m. The ridge divides the Yenisei basin from Mongolia’s closed Uureg-Nuur hollow. Palaeozoic slates and volcanics build the crest; the south flank is steep steppe, the north dissected by upper Khemchik valleys. Not a national park with marked trails but rugged terrain for experienced overlanders and trekkers. Border proximity needs documents and compliance. Combine with Mongun-Taiga and Hindiktig-Khol but allow several days and spare fuel — no services on the ridge.
