Tynda

Tynda grew as a Baikal-Amur Mainline hub and remains northern Amur's main railway city. Station, depot and BAM builder quarters — a face unlike the southern steppe. Taiga surrounds the city; harsher climate than Blagoveshchensk — short summer, long winter. For transit passengers Tynda means connections, overnight stays and supplies before Zeysky Reservoir. Sights are modest — BAM builder monuments, Tynda river embankment, train views. The draw is northern mainline atmosphere, not a postcard. Hotels near the station and homestays; book train tickets ahead in season. Flights from major cities — a northern Amur entry point. Include in a BAM + Zeya route — a day or two for logistics, then west to the reservoir or east on the line.
