A powerful waterfall about one hundred sixty metres high in the Chulyshman valley — among the republic's tallest.
Uchar Waterfall
Uchar drops the Bashtar-Bash river into the Chulyshman from a high ledge; free fall and cascades create a roar heard from afar. A valley icon alongside Katu-Yaryk pass. Approach is on foot with crossings and climbs; sections run on steep slopes. A one- or two-day hike from valley bases. Spray and wind at the base are strong; rocks are slick. Viewpoints sit at different levels — not all safe for children or unprepared visitors. Uchar features in multi-day Chulyshman programs with other falls and petroglyphs. No mass coach access. After rain, flow and rockfall risk rise — check conditions with local guides before setting out.

Into the Chulyshman via Katu-Yaryk; then valley trails to Uchar with a river crossing.
