Yagodnoye Settlement

Yagodnoye stands on the federal highway linking Magadan to the Yakut Kolyma. The village grew around gold mining and supply for northern pits; today miners, winter-road drivers and taiga-season support staff live here. For travellers it is the last stop with fuel, shops and fairly stable connectivity before Jack London Lake, Silakh and Okhotsk Range passes. Beyond lie dirt roads, fords and weather dependence. Modest architecture — panel blocks, hangars, traces of closed mines and abandoned equipment by the roadside. A working atmosphere without tourist gloss — you find guides and ask about road conditions, not souvenirs. Winter brings polar night and frost below −40 °C; summer is a brief window for expeditions, fishing groups and vehicle repairs. Daylight is long, but pass snow can delay departures even in August. A stop for provisions, spare fuel and talks with local drivers, not a standalone sight. Plan an overnight if lake roads take more than a day.
