Yailu Glacier View
The Yailu glacier descends Belukha's east slopes; its tongue and moraines show from trails near the reserve boundary. Not a coach viewpoint — earned on foot. Routes to viewpoints need Altai Reserve permits, altitude experience, and stable weather. Ice and rockfall are real — observe from safe distances. Panoramas include neighbouring peaks, glaciers, and sometimes a cloud ring around Belukha. Clear days are rare — allow spare time. Yailu appears in programs around Akkem and Belukha passes; solo trips without map and guide are not recommended. High-altitude cold even in summer — warm layers and wind protection essential.
How to get there
On foot from Tyungur-area valleys with reserve permits; no road to the glacier.
