Yemetsk sits on a bay opening to the White Sea in Pinega district. River and sea meet — fishing boats, landings, low shore and pine forest behind the village. Paved road from Arkhangelsk or Pinega to the district; final sections to beaches and capes are dirt. Summer fishing and shore walks; swimming is rare — cold water.
