Barguzin Bay occupies Baikal's northeast sector; ~40 km long. The Barguzin River forms a delta with shallows and sand spits. Shallows warm in summer; nesting waterfowl and waders. Local fishing; few tourist piers but space and quiet. Rock, sand and taiga shore; open Baikal wind rises by evening. Winter ice — travel only when safe. Best overview from the water — boats from Ust-Barguzin and nearby villages. Land views at delta and capes. Key east Baikal feature — combine with the reserve and Sagan-Zaba rock.
