Belomorsk Petroglyphs

Belomorsk petroglyphs (Zalavruga) lie at Besov Nos cape near Zalavruga village. Thousands of images on granite — deer, boats, hunting scenes and mythic figures from the 4th–3rd millennium BC. A heritage site of exceptional value; access is via guided routes with limits on independent visits to some panels. An open archaeological landscape on the White Sea Canal shore, not an indoor museum. Carvings sit on bare granite slabs; some panels are moss-covered — no touching or rubbing.
