Church of Boris and Gleb (Kideksha)

Kideksha lies where the Kamenka meets the Nerl, a few kilometres from Suzdal. The Church of Boris and Gleb is one of the few 12th-century temples surviving nearly intact — part of the UNESCO “White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal”. Founded around 1152 in Andrei Bogolyubsky’s era; white-stone masonry, strict proportions and high buttresses distinguish it from later Suzdal churches. Nearby are ancient hillfort remains and later buildings; river meadows are often quieter than central Suzdal. Reach by car or taxi from Suzdal in 10–15 minutes; a path runs along the Nerl. Visiting rules and tickets via the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve (check seasonal hours). Combine with Bogolyubovo and Nerl monasteries, but allow dedicated time — not a background chapel but a key to 12th-century white-stone architecture.
