German fortifications
The front line once ran across this part of the Rybachy Peninsula, separating Soviet and German troops. Rusted barbed wire, spent cartridges and decaying wartime objects still lie on the ground. A careful look at the rocks reveals machine-gun positions and bunkers cut directly into the granite. Some underground passages and fortifications remain surprisingly well preserved despite the wind and damp sea air.
